Pillar Sports was given the task of overhauling the online voting system that is housed within the game’s official website NRL.com
The solution proposed a new user-friendly drag-and-drop interface and also allowed fans to register using their Facebook or Twitter accounts.
The back-end provides the NRL with detailed reporting on application and captures valuable fan data for future marketing purposes.
The NRL has effectively marketed the award using their ample social media channels and supporting editorial, resulting in record numbers of fans casting their votes.
The result is a great fan engagement tool that benefits both the NRL and the fans.
The medal is steeped in tradition and was inspired by former players Norm Provan and Arthur Summons and their iconic embrace at the conclusion of the 1963 Grand Final.
